THE JOURNEY...

GM Anchor.png

In 1992, I was 18 years old with a toddler in my arms and $300 in my pocket. I was born and raised in Venezuela, but once my daughter was born I knew I wanted to build a purposeful life for us in the place where dreams always seem to come true... America. We journeyed from Venezuela to New York and nestled in with family members until we were able to stand on our own. I did everything that I could in order to make ends meet. Working double shifts and multiple jobs, from cleaning houses to waitressing, I did it all. I didn't know it at the time but all of that hard work and determination was shaping me into a strong woman for both myself and my family. My future self now thanks her.

My career in Retail took off shortly after I was given a starting position at my local Victoria's Secret. I worked my way up to the Manager's position and found my passion in leading teams, building relationships, coaching, and mentoring. I can now say that in the past 20 years I've worked with many wonderful companies and extraordinary teams that I'm grateful to have been a part of.

While all of that hard work and determination made me strong, love was what kept me compassionate.  I have been able to build an amazing life for myself and my family. That young girl who became a single mother at age 14 had dreams that were bigger than her, and although it hasn't been an easy journey, I am filled with an overwhelming gratitude for everything I have accomplished.

I AM MOST PROUD OF...

Through all of the challenges that life has thrown my way, I have always been able to remain optimistic and hopeful, with a solution-focused mentality. I'm driven by my love for life and my loved ones, and I'm always working towards being a better mother, a stronger leader, and an inspiration to anyone I meet. This explains my love for anchors and why I chose to incorporate one into my business logo.

Giving back to the community through volunteering and fundraising is important to me. In my current role as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Immigrant Concerns, I'm an active advocate for initiatives that support the organization’s mission. The IIC helps immigrants and refugees with affordable ESL classes, and career guidance to support their integration into societal culture.

In my free time you will find me at the beach taking in the sun or maybe bike riding my favorite trail. I love dancing to Latin music and one day hope to master the art of Flamenco.

VALUES & BELIEFS

Self-leadership is a skill that can be developed. Self-leadership is the power to decide how to react to what life brings your way and it is the key to creating and living a life versus reacting to a life you feel is simply happening to you.

Living purposefully requires awareness and intentional work, which allows you to prioritize what’s important, make conscious decisions, and increase your overall satisfaction.

The best of who we are shows up in all areas of our life; work, home, friendships, intimate relationships. Living a balanced and fulfilling life is embracing our authenticity and bringing the best of who we are into all aspects of our lives.

Love is the ultimate driving force of the universe and connecting all of us. When we do what we love and when we learn to love ourselves anything is possible!
